With her infectious blend of pop melodies and country influences, Hayley McKay captured the audience's imagination around the world.
Now she is returning with the haunting ballad Ghosted, the latest single to be taken from her self-titled debut album.
And you can watch the video for the song above.
Although she hails from Darlington, McKay has been likened to American stars Colbie Caillat, Cassadee Pope and LeAnn Rimes thanks to her hauntingly beautiful voice and moving lyrics.
But McKay has a distinctive style that show her to be an all-round country artist with flair that is very much her own.
This led to the singer-songwriter heading to Nashville to co-write with twice Grammy-nominated songwriter Jan Buckingham (Whitney Houston), performing in Whispering Bob Harris's home studio, as well as her sharing the bill with, among others, Tom Jones, Albert Lee, Scouting for Girls, Jamie Cullum and Seal.
Discussing the album, McKay said: "[It] has been a real labour of love for me," said Hayley.
"I’ve been wanting to share my music with everyone for so long now and I’ve been working on the album for over a year to make sure that it’s absolutely right.
"Every song shows off a different element of my voice and my producer, Matt Parisi, has really delivered an amazing sound with Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road adding his own special magic.
"I’m so proud of this album and I really hope everyone will love it as much as I do."
