Ozzy Osbourne backtracks on sex addiction admission: 'I just got caught, didn't I?'

Ozzy Osbourne may have last year admitted to suffering from sex addiction, with an array of affairs landing him in a rehabilitation clinic, but it now seems Osbourne's admission was a tad premature.

"I don't think I'm a f------ sex addict," the characteristically sweary rock star has said. "I'm in a f------ rock band, aren't I? There have always been groupies. I just got caught, didn't I?"

Osbourne's latest admission goes against a statement from his publicist last August, in which the Black Sabbath frontman was said to be wracked with guilt over his infidelities.

"Over the last six years, Ozzy Osbourne has been dealing with a sex addiction," the rep told People Magazine. "He would like to apologize to the other women he has been having sexual relationships with. Out of the bad comes good... Ozzy has gone into intense therapy.

"Ozzy is mortified at what his behaviour has done to his family. He thanks God that his incredible wife Sharon is at his side to support him."

Sharon Osbourne also spoke about her husband's rehabilitation on her US chat show The Talk.

"He's been going [to] outpatient for sex addiction for the last three months and, after the tour, he goes into inpatient for three months," she said. "He's working at it. It's hard because it affects the whole family and it's quite embarrassing. I'm proud that he's come out and admitted it, finally."

But in a new interview with The Times, Osbourne seemed to blame his wife's busy work schedule for his affairs.

"Sharon is a workaholic and that's great," he said. "But if she comes home from X Factor and wants to go to bed, what the f--- am I supposed to do? I'm sitting with my thumb in my arse waiting for her, aren't I? That's why men do stupid things, when they're on their own."

The couple briefly split in May 2016, with daughter Kelly subsequently tweeting the phone number of one of her father's alleged lovers. The couple are now back together, however, with Sharon Osbourne revealing in December that they are considering renewing their vows. The couple married in 1982.

"Yes, we did [reconcile]," he told The Times. "Things are fine now. She was just here for the weekend. She'd be with me now, but she's got more f------ work than I have. She's unstoppable."

Osbourne is currently touring the UK with Black Sabbath. While he boasted in the interview that groupies were a part of his lifestyle, he confessed that he'd feel differently if his wife had her own.

"Sharon have groupies? She'd better not," he said. "I'd go f------ mental."
