Chris Martin paused his Melbourne show on Friday night so an audience member could propose to his girlfriend.

He paused in the middle of the song "A Sky Full Of Stars" so a lovestruck man could pop the question to his girlfriend of three years.

Lonardo Tannom, 31, was pictured on one knee in the middle of the stage, next to the band's front man. He nervously gripped onto the microphone as he proposed to Felicia Lie, 26.

He said: "So for the past three years, thank you for your love.

"Thank you for giving me a chance.

"So in the midst of Coldplay, my new best friend Chris, and all the people here in Melbourne I just want to say I love you. 'Will you marry me?'"

Luckily for the love-struck man, she said yes, as tears trickled down her face.

The proposal took place in front of 50,000 people.

Coldplay is one of Felicia Lie's favourite bands.

She told the Mail Online: "I was surprised - I guess it was a mixture of disbelief and happiness.

"It was amazing for me to be able to share the stage with him, it was amazing that he went beyond what he was supposed to be doing for us.

"He is definitely invited to our wedding - although I know he has a very busy schedule."
