This woman's Christmas decorations put everyone else's to shame

Los Angeles-based artist and photographer Christine McConnell has gone all-out in her efforts to upstage her neighbours Christmas decorations this year, if these photos are anything to go by.

While some people might be satisfied with a simple wreath, or perhaps a few fairy lights draped on a bush, Christine has transformed her parents' home into a Hansel-and-Gretel-esque Gingerbread house, complete with icing on the room (fashioned from nylon rope,) lollipop lawn adornments and some (not all that festive, to be honest) gingerbread gravestones.

Here's Christine in the early stages of the decoration job:

"My nieces Chloe and Keira played Hansel and Gretel. They're my favorite people"

Christine posted pictures of the house to Reddit, where they've garnered hundreds of favourable comments - and her Instagram posts have attracted thousands of likes.

The house spotlit at night:

Christine, also a baker, has previously come under the spotlight thanks to her elaborate gothic cakes and, back in October, caused a stir when she did her parents' house up for Halloween:
