With Pokémania back in vogue following the Pokémon Go phenomenon, UK video game clothing company Insert Coin has opened a pop-up shop in London to launch a new range based on the popular pocket monsters.
Insert Coin’s store will give fans the first chance to buy the Pokémon range; created to celebrate the game’s 20 th anniversary. Designs feature Squirtle, Jigglypuff and Team Rocket to name but a few. The pop-up shop is located at Shop 8 (Dray Walk), The Old Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, London, E1 6QL and will be open from August 25-30. Pikachu will be appearing at the shop on Thursday and Friday.
Stock will be strictly limited on a first-come-first-served basis at the store, before the range is released on Insert Coin’s website later this year.
Following the extraordinary success of Pokémon Go, you can expect a deluge of fans looking to be the first to get their hands on the Pokéclobber. While the game has shed millions of users over the last few weeks as the initial craze fades, it remains hugely popular as players venture out to capture cartoon critters in the real world.
Alternatively, purists may well be waiting for the next ‘proper’ Pokémon games, Sun and Moon, which release for Nintendo's 3DS console on 23 November.
