Pintura in Leeds is the venue for this on-camera cook-off featuring UK tapas talents.

With heat comes cold beer and al fresco food, and few cuisines are as made for summer as tapas. To find the perfect pairing for Madrid’s own Mahou beer, the Telegraph has teamed up with the brand and Michelin-starred chef Mark Sergeant to present to you the best dishes to accompany the delicious beer.

Every week, three UK tapas chefs are challenged to rustle up a themed tapas dish to compliment Mahou’s five-star flavour.

This week, chef Greg Lewis hosts us at his restaurant Pintura in Leeds as Mark Sergeant oversees the “classic tapas” challenge which will see Lewis and chefs Nacho Del Campo of Camino and Marcos Moran of Hispania preparing original twists on traditional tapas dishes

Five-star taste

The origins of Mahou Cinco Estrellas lie in Madrid where this famous Pilsner-style lager is synonymous with the city’s beer-and-tapas culture.

Its five-star taste reflects the finest ingredients – premium Bavarian and Spanish hops and a century-old strain of brewer’s yeast.

A subtle hint of malted barley and a gentle bitterness combine for a clean refreshing flavour that makes Mahou the rightful companion to Spanish cuisine.

Whether on draught or in bottle, even the way the beer is poured is part of Mahou’s five-star taste experience.
