Collective energy switch: Lower your energy bills

Collective energy switch

Do you want to save money on your energy bill? A collective energy switch is one way to save up to £641* a year.

It has never been a better time to join a collective energy switch. With the average ‘Big Six’ standard variable tariff now costing the average household £1,042 a year, and the cheapest deal on the market around £830, millions of consumers could lower their annual bills by more than £200.

We’ve launched a collective energy switching service with Ofgem-accredited comparison and switching site energyhelpline. By joining The Telegraph Energy Club, you can switch to exclusive deals, and could save up to £641*.

To join a collective energy switch, just fill in a simple form, and we will negotiate a great energy deal using the collective power of the thousands who have signed up. Once the deals are available, we’ll let you know – and if you choose to go with it, we will organise your switch completely free.

Why join a collective energy switch and change provider?

Last year more than six million people changed their energy supplier, a record high. However, that still leaves several million energy customers that remain on the same tariff year after year.

While many of us search the market for a better deal when our insurance deals are up for renewal, far fewer people look to compare gas and electricity deals to see if they can get a better one.

Many customers' loyalty, or reluctance to change, means they stay on the same energy tariff despite cheaper deals entering the market – or they remain with the same provider but end up paying more each month for the same thing.

Actively switching energy suppliers could save you hundreds of pounds, with tariffs changing frequently and companies trying to win customers from their rivals and maintain their loyalty.

Could you save £723 like Robert Davies did with a collective energy switch?

Telegraph reader Robert Davies managed to save a whopping £723 from his annual energy bill by using The Telegraph Energy Club.

Mr Davies said:

“With my old supplier I experienced a large spike in my monthly bill, which my supplier couldn’t explain. My bill kept increasing so I thought it was time for a change. I noticed the collective campaign advert in the Telegraph so I decided to register. Once the deal was announced it was really simple to switch, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to reduce the cost of their household bills.”

He added: “I did a quick internet comparison and switched to the exclusive collective winning tariff from British Gas. I’ve now seen a decrease in the cost of my monthly direct debit, and I’m estimated to save £723 over the next year.”
