Toy Story fan recreates Andy's room in real life
Is it real or is it Pixar? Can you tell the difference?

Fans of Pixar’s beloved Toy Story franchise have painstakingly recreated the room of Andy, the child to whom the film’s toy cast belong, and posted pictures on social media site Tumblr.
The Pixarist Tumblr profile has used stills from the 2010 film Toy Story 3 as the basis of his reconstruction of the setting. Andy, the child who enthusiastically played with the toys in the first film of 1995, is now 17, and soon to leave for college. New posters now cover old ones depicting spaceman toy Buzz Lightyear, and a television and electric guitars now occupy his time.
Morgan McGrew and Mason McGrew decided to assemble the room as one of the sets for their shot for shot recreation of the film, sourcing items from relatives such as a red Squier stratocaster guitar and salvaging furniture. Beginning in 2011 the project took them two years, but the result, they said, was “the room that most of us grew up wishing we had”.
The McGrews made sure that “every little detail was captured”, such as the crescent-moon cut-away at the head of Andy’s bed, the whiteboard by Andy’s desk and the clutter that appears on his door. “I still can’t believe we managed to find that dart board” the post said “…and for only $5 at a thrift shop.” They even recreated stickers and posters which would litter the space.
In order to “[bring] our toys to life” for their film, the McGrews suspended them with fishing wires and used stop-start animation to imbue them with “fluid motion”. Watch a clip here, which puts Toy Story 3 and its stop-motion recreation in parallel. Filming for the project has yet to be completed.
