The Rock, otherwise known as Dwayne Johnson, is known for playing tough guy Luke Hobbs in the action-packed The Fast and the Furious franchise.
But showing his sensitive side and turning on the tears is also no problem for the 6ft 5in actor, professional wrestler and former American football player: Johnson has revealed that there's one particular 1987 Whitney Houston track that will do the trick every time.
In fact, he doesn't even need to hear the ballad in question – it seems as if simply mentioning the song can provoke a pretty intense emotional reaction.
“I can cry like that," Johnson told the New York Times, in a recent interview. "I hear a song sometimes, Didn’t We Almost Have It All, by Whitney Houston, and – ”
The article then reports that Johnson's face "crumpled into sadness".
Elsewhere in the interview, the star said that, shortly after he moved into the acting world, he was advised by the agency representing him to "slim down" his bulky, muscular physique, and conform to a more conventional body type. He initially complied with the suggestion but later decided to change his representation.
“If you don’t know any better, then you buy into that stuff," he said. “But it never felt great to me. Physically, it didn’t feel great at all.”
Johnson's most recent role is in disaster movie San Andreas, released this Friday, in which he stars as a search-and-rescue expert, battling to save his estranged family after California is hit by a destructive earthquake.
