Michael Fassbender's king receives his crown and charges into war in these first-look clips from the Cannes Palme d'Or contender Macbeth, co-starring Marion Cotillard.
The first clip shows Macbeth's coronation; in the second, Fassbender leads his men into battle against the English after being driven insane.
The film is directed by Australian film-maker Justin Kurzel, who also directed the acclaimed indie drama Snowtown. With Harvey Weinstein praising the stars for delivering “two of the most extraordinary performances of the year” Macbeth is already predicted to be a festival favourite.
Kurzel will next be seen adapting the popular video game Assassin's Creed, which will also star Fassbender and Cotillard.
Macbeth will be released in cinemas on October 2
