Without wishing to spoil anything, Jon Snow may or may not return after the events of the season five finale of Game of Thrones. But the man who plays him, Kit Harington, will bounce back soon enough.
Jon Snow wasn't exactly known for his comedy stylings, but in the HBO mockumentary 7 Days in Hell will show his funny side as (fictional) dim-witted tennis player Charles Poole, whose rivallry with playboy champion Aaron Williams (played by Saturday Night Live's Andy Samberg) culminates in an epic, week-long match at Wimbledon 2004.
Rapturous reviews from the SXSW festival in March indicate that 7 Days in Hell, directed by Funny or Die veteran Jake Syzmanski, is filthy even by HBO's standards: it has all-male Swedish prison orgies, a running joke about ventilated underwear, and ball jokes galore.
It also has a stellar supporting cast, including real-life tennis stars Serena Williams and John McEnroe, magician David Copperfield, Girls star Lena Dunham, former Doctor Who companion Karen Gillan, and Michael Sheen playing a British chat show host who takes quite a shine to Harington's character.
7 Days in Hell will be shown on HBO on July 11 - just in time for Wimbledon.
