How to master the puffer coat trend, for every figure and occasion

Puffer coats are ‘on trend’, which is handy  when the temperature is plummeting and I can’t bear to leave the house wearing anything that doesn’t feel like a duvet.

They were all over the autumn catwalk shows: Burberry reinvented its iconic check prints in puffed-up form, and Moncler collaborated with  a host of big-hitting  fashion designers to create quilted pieces that look closer to art than apparel. It was puffer couture, if you will.

I’m sure there are plenty of people who steer clear of puffer coats, as they can sometimes be truly unflattering. The trick is to find the right one for your shape. For curvier silhouettes, opt for cinched-in waists, tall frames may want to avoid cropped styles and if you’re petite, look for ones minimal additional ‘puff’.  A good puffer coat is an investment buy and should last you for many winters to come.
