Ever wondered how models learn to walk the walk? You know; that hip-swinging strut that they all do down the catwalk?

Well, Gigi Hadid is here to explain.

“We start with crawling. Have you ever seen a cheetah walk? Everything moves together,” she says in a short video for W Magazine. “I think it’s really important to find your method.”

But there’s more…

“Trust your feet. It’s always left foot in front of right foot. If you go right in front of left, like, everyone’s gonna know. It’s embarrassing. It’s like social suicide,” she jokes.

The film coincides with Hadid’s appearance on the cover of W Magazine, which dubs her the archetypal ‘Post It girl’, a play on her social media popularity.

Inside the issue, the 20-year-old talks about life as one of the world’s most in-demand models and being a founding member of the social media-made supermodels of our time, alongside the likes of Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner.

“I have more than 4 million followers on Instagram,” she says. “All the companies I work for want me to guarantee how much I’ll post for them, but I’m not going to force my career onto the people who follow me. I refuse to do 40 Instagram posts about any campaign.”

She also rubbished rumours of a romance with British racing driver Lewis Hamilton, saying: “Supposedly, Kendall and I are fighting over Lewis. I have to read the news to find out what’s happening in my life.”

The interview also explains how Hadid is ‘related’ to best friend Kendall Jenner; Gigi’s stepdad David Foster was once married to Jenner’s dad’s (now better known as Caitlyn Jenner) ex-wife Linda Thompson.
