The 25th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place in Los Angeles last night at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo hall. The awards honors the most outstanding performances in television and film.
Among the winners of the night were Glenn Close for her starring role in The Wife, who pipped both Emily Blunt and Lady Gaga to the post for the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role award. Blunt, however, was awarded the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for dystopian horror A Quiet Place. One of the evening's pinnacle moments was in Blunt's tearjerking speech where she thanked her husband and feel actor John Krasinski, who starred alongside her in the film and also directed. Blunt looked stunning in a hot pink Michael Kors gown which featured a sculptured neckline.
The Black Panther cast which includes Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira and Letitia Wright won big last night, winning both Outstanding Performance by a Cast and by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture.
