There are four meetings in England and Wales on Tuesday, with jump racing from the Principality at Bangor (12.30-4.15pm) and Chepstow (12.50-4.35). The Flat cards come from Catterick (12.40-4.25) and Southwell, which will be lit up for the evening meeting on the Fibresand (4.50-7.50).
Tuesday’s nap is a previous Southwell winner who is fancied to step up successfully to an extended two miles at the Nottinghamshire circuit in the final race of the day.

The Anthony Brittain-trained THAWRY took to the Fibresand at Southwell impressively when romping home by more than eight lengths this month, leaving odds-on jolly and previous course winner Mackelly flailing in his wake and having to settle for third.
Given the margin of victory, Thawry was odds-on to overcome a penalty back here nine days later but he couldn’t follow up, finishing a length behind the winner in fourth place.
A review of that run shows nothing really went right for Angus Villiers’ mount. Thawry is an honest sort that doesn’t really possess a change of gear, which makes him an ideal Southwell candidate but not, as in that previous run, when he finds himself behind a wall of horses on the home bend.
Villiers couldn’t get much room to challenge and, when he did switch inside, his partner could only plug on at the same pace late on.
Both that run and his previous 1m 4f course success were strong indications that Thawry is well equipped for the sort of dour staying test that a 2m ½f trip around here provides. With the yard in good form, Villiers can hopefully get himself in position for a more seamless challenge in the home straight and, in the long run, Thawry can break the will of his rivals.

Horse racing tips today: Chepstow 3.25
Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden enjoyed a fine time of it at the recent two-day jumps meeting here and more Welsh winners may await the in-form Ditcheat duo now.
This Beginners’ Chase over 2m 7½f is a decent contest on paper and one from which a few winners should eventually come out.
The Wolf has a recent hurdles run at Bangor to aid his fitness on his chasing bow but Olly Murphy’s charge was outfought in a match that afternoon and will need more determination to prevail now.
Liosduin Bhearna, Ashfield Paddy and Doc Penfro all have merits, with the first-named having scored at Doncaster over this sort of trip in February when last spotted. He had BLACKJACK KENTUCKY in second that day but the Ditcheat inmate can reverse that over fences on their respective returns.
Winner of an Irish point-to-point in November 2017 before transferring to Nicholls, this Oscar gelding will always have had chasing as his end game. He was placed five times in seven starts over hurdles and gained his solitary win over this course and distance back in January on heavy ground.
The Ditcheat horses are routinely coming out first time ready for action and, having undergone a wind operation during his layoff, Blackjack Kentucky is fancied to make a winning start over fences at a venue where Nicholls is 8-15 this season for a 53 per cent strike-rate.

THE NEWEST ONE went through last season winless in five starts but there was plenty of promise in what he managed and better can be expected from Nigel Twiston-Davies’ charge in this campaign.
He shaped well on heavy ground on his debut in a bumper at Cheltenham 12 months ago and was immediately sent hurdling, showing further promise when third at Haydock in December in only his second race over obstacles.
There was some money for him on his most recent outing in February, his handicap hurdle debut at Ludlow (2m 5f, soft), but running from today’s mark he could only manage third of six, beaten five lengths. He raced keenly and was repeatedly hassled for that advantage, factors that surely didn’t work to his benefit.
He’s closely related to this yard’s former top-class hurdler The New One and, now a five-year-old, he should make progress this term.
