Our nap on Wednesday is a mare looking to break her duck at Hereford under in-form pilot Paddy Brennan for the second time.

Horse racing tips: Hereford 2.25

Just seven runners line up in this maiden hurdle over 3m 1½f but there are some potentially useful contenders on show.

Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden have been in flying form recently and the Ditcheat partnership will have high hopes for Young Buck. The Yeats gelding races in the famous Stewart Family silks carried to great glory by Big Buck’s in the halcyon days of Nicholls’ dominance.

Winner of his only point-to-point in Ireland in February 2019, Young Buck made a solid start to his hurdling career for Nicholls in March when third of six at Exeter (2m 7f, soft).

He should build on that and there are no worries that he will strip fit given the recent form of his stable. However, he faces a tough task on paper, conceding 7lb to the mare ZIGGY ROSE.

By Fame And Glory, she can count herself unfortunate still to be contesting a maiden having finished second in four of five starts over timber last season after joining the Noel Williams yard.

She’s proven at the trip and her most recent second at Doncaster (3m ½f, heavy) in a Listed novices' contest in February was hugely promising. She pushed the progressive Cill Anna all the way to the line in that event and a repeat here might suffice.

That was Paddy Brennan’s first time partnering Ziggy Rose and she returns to action with the jockey enjoying a rich vein of form.

She went well on seasonal bow last term and so should be fit and ready for this, and looks to have standout credentials to open her account.

Tip: Ziggy Rose @ 4/7 with bet365

There looks sure to be a real jostle for favouritism ahead of this Fillies’ Handicap over 7f with Clinician, Areehaa and Serenading all boasting strong credentials.

James Fanshawe saddles the last-named, who has back-to-back wins over this trip at Newcastle, but this is a stronger race and the four-year-old faces a two-pronged attack from Sir Michael Stoute.

Areehaa scored on the Polytrack at Chelmsford in September and has run well since on heavy ground at Newmarket. Jim Crowley rides for his retaining owner but preference is for stablemate CLINICIAN in the Cheveley Park silks.

Like Areehaa, she is by Kingman and her win at Wolverhampton 32 days ago was eye-catching. Cieren Fallon was on board there and he had to wait for what seemed an age before seeing daylight to make his challenge, having turned for home on the running rail.

Once she got out, the filly quickened impressively to win the race a shade snugly. She’s up 5lb for that win but looks one to remain with for now and can take this competitive heat under Ryan Moore.

Tip: Clinician @ 9/4 with bet365

Soft ground is a big plus-factor for Roger Varian’s ZEZENIA in this Fillies’ Handicap over a mile. The daughter of Oasis Dream has excelled with give underfoot, winning both starts on ground with soft in the description.

The most recent of those came at Salisbury in August over this distance and her subsequent no-show at Nottingham is readily overlooked after Ray Dawson’s saddle slipped in the run and denied her any chance to shine.

Andrea Atzeni, who was on board for Haydock success on soft going in July, returns in the plate now and his filly should be in the firing line at an each-way price having eased 1lb in the ratings.

Previous course winner Lorton is a danger while the Lady Bamford duo of Sunset Kiss and Sun Bear have definite scope for better. Conditions, however, are in favour of Zezenia.

Tip: Zezenia @ 13/2 with bet365
