We are five-handed for the start of a new racing week with a pair of jumps meetings and a trio of all-weather offerings this Monday.

Leicester (12.30-3.30) get the ball rolling over jumps alongside Plumpton (12.45-3.50) while there's all-weather racing at Wolverhampton (2.10-5.40) and Dundalk (2.15-5.50) in the afternoon, before Kempton (4.25-8.30) takes up the baton in the evening.

Monday's NAP comes from Dundalk, where dual Group 1 winner Romanised could be in trouble on his all-weather bow.

A Monday afternoon treat from Ireland as former Irish 2,000 Guineas scorer Romanised makes a first foray to the Co Louth circuit. Ken Condon's five-year-old is being touted for a trip to Hong Kong this winter, with this visit to Dundalk viewed as a stepping stone for that assignment.

In all probability, a clash with SALTONSTALL might not have been something connections were factoring for on a mundane Monday afternoon.

Romanised was a well below-par run in the Group 1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp in September, finishing last, while he also came up a fair way short at Deauville in August in a race won by Palace Pier.

Granted, this isn't a Group 1 contest and he was successful in a Curragh Group 2 (7f, yielding) on his first start of the year, but this is anything but assured and the odds-on favourite has got to prove effective on the Polytrack.

Saltonstall is also having a first public outing on the artificial surface but Ado McGuinness' runner comes here on the back of career-best effort when tidily winning a Listed contest at Naas (1m, soft to heavy) earlier this month. He's effective too on good ground and should handle this track.

On official ratings there is now just 6lb between this pair and Saltonstall gets 4lb here, while McGuinness has jocked-up the excellent Sam Ewing with his 7lb claim to further tilt the balance.

That weight differential could prove telling in the final analysis and Saltonstall is fancied to upset the favourite in his current mood.

Tip: Saltonstall @ 15/8 with bet365

There could be a jolt of improvement to come from Olly Murphy's FRIARY LAND in this afternoon's finale at Plumpton.

His form in Ireland (four runs) was inconspicuous and he appeared in need of the outing at Fontwell last month on first start for this trainer (sent off at 28/1).

There was more to like since in a Female Jockeys' Handicap at Stratford over an extended two-miles as Friary Land did some good work late on, strongly hinting that a more testing examination of stamina would see him in a good light.

This isn't a strong contest and he's got in-form Aidan Coleman, seen to such good effect at Cheltenham on Sunday, taking over in the saddle after being ridden by amateurs on his first two starts for this yard. If that improvement is forthcoming they'll have excellent prospects in this line-up.

Corrie Lake, runner-up over 2m4½f at this track a fortnight ago, rates amongst the leading players on the betting and is feared as such.

Tip: Friary Land @ 3/1 with bet365

At a massive price it might be worth taking a punt on RAINBOW MIRAGE finding improvement on handicap bow for trainer Mark Rimwell.

The Garswood filly was readily dismissed on debut at Wolverhampton over 7f in September, as the market suggested she should be, but she certainly built on that when a 66/1 fourth of ten over this C&D nine days later.

She raced handily and was beaten just over two-lengths in the hands of Rob Hornby at the line.

The form is nothing to shout about but, having flopped on soft ground at Redcar in one outing since, perhaps an opening mark of 57 might be underestimating the potential Rainbow Mirage showed in that previous C&D start.

Certainly there was enough in it to suggest something similar will be within her grasp at this level before long and, at the prices, she could be rewarding if finding some improvement now sent handicapping under Cieren Fallon.

Tip: Rainbow Mirage @ 16/1 with bet365
