Manchester City have slipped to second in the betting on the outright Premier League winner after they were beaten 2-0 at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. That result took Spurs top of the table and prompted their own title odds to be cut to 5/1, while City’s third defeat in eight league matches has left them in 13th and drifting to 5/2 in the market, twice the odds of 5/4 favourites Liverpool.
José Mourinho’s current team share joint-third favouritism with one of his former clubs, Chelsea, who won 2-0 away to Newcastle United at the weekend and have won their last five matches in all competitions. Chelsea briefly led the standings on Saturday until Tottenham’s victory.
Leicester remain in the top four and fifth favourites to win the league but were firmly put in their place by Liverpool, who won 3-0 at Anfield on Sunday. However, Leicester’s odds of 33/1 suggest the bet365 traders see the Premier League winner market as a four-way betting heat.

Reds issue reminder for the rest
Liverpool are now 5/4 favourites in the Premier League winner odds after defeating Leicester 3-0 on Sunday to make light of a growing list of injuries and absentees.

Leicester were eased to 33/1 in the betting after that reverse, just ahead of Manchester United, who drifted out to 40/1 despite recording their first home league win of the season at the fourth attempt against West Bromwich Albion.
We backed Chelsea to win the league at the start of the season and after an inconsistent start, the Blues are starting to show signs they could mount a challenge. Their odds have shortened from 8/1 to 5/1 alongside Spurs who defeated Manchester City 2-0 on Saturday and finished the weekend on top of the table.
Arsenal have now won just once in their last five Premier League games and their odds have drifted out to 100/1, where they are joined by Everton.
