Manchester City will attempt to make it back-to-back victories in the Champions League when they visit Marseille on Tuesday.
The Premier League title hopefuls have made a slow start to their domestic campaign, picking up just eight points from their first five league outings, but are firmly up and running in Europe after easing to a 3-1 win over Porto at the Etihad last week.
Meanwhile, the French outfit are seeking their first points in the 2020-21 Champions League, having lost their opening match at Olympiacos to a 90th-minute goal, but their domestic form suggests they have plenty to offer. Marseille are fourth and have lost just one of eight matches in Ligue 1 this term.
Marseille vs Manchester City predictions
City may have been held to a draw by West Ham United on Saturday but they can get back to winning ways in pursuit of the trophy they most want to lift. Marseille have won their last two in Ligue 1 but City will provide a much sterner test and can return home with three points.

City to dominate at the Vélodrome
City lacked consistency in the Premier League last season but were a different beast in the group stages of Champions League, in which they were unbeaten.
But after beating Real Madrid home and away in the last 16, a single-leg quarter final against Lyon proved City’s undoing and they suffered an unexpected exit.
Pep Guardiola and his squad still have a burning desire to end the club’s long wait for European honours – their only Continental trophy came in the old Cup-Winners’ Cup in 1970 – and the 3-1 triumph over Porto on matchday one laid down an early marker.
The Citizens will be keen to shake off Saturday’s frustrating 1-1 draw with West Ham and Marseille could be in for a long evening at the Stade Vélodrome.
Marseille are back in the Champions League for the first time since 2013-14, when they finished bottom of their group, and City should make their class tell.

Guardiola still fine-tuning
Guardiola doesn’t yet appear to know his best defensive line-up, despite further strengthening his squad with the additions of Nathan Ake and Rúben Dias over the summer.
Eric García, Aymeric Laporte, Ake, Dias, John Stones and Kyle Walker have all turned out in the centre of defence for City in the early stages of 2020-21.
Ake has even been thrust into the left-back berth as Guardiola seemingly doesn’t have enough faith in Benjamin Mendy.
The Catalan tactician’s constant chopping and changing at the back has led to a lack of stability, and helps explain why City have kept just two clean sheets in eight games in all competitions this term.
City’s defensive issues in Europe aren’t a new headache for Guardiola as they managed just two shutouts in nine Champions League outings last season.

Sterling to set the ball rolling
Raheem Sterling has been thrust into a leading role for City this campaign with Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jésus both struggling with injuries but was guilty of missing some golden opportunities against West Ham.
Jésus takes the next step on his road to recovery this week after returning to training but isn’t expected to play again until after the November international break.
Aguero, meanwhile, has started City’s last three games across all competitions but could be set for another spell out after picking up a knock against the Hammers on Saturday.
Sterling has worked hard to fill the void, scoring four times in all competitions, and he looks the most likely candidate to register against Marseille.
The England forward enjoyed his most prolific season in front of goal in the Champions League last term as he notched on six occasions, opening the scoring three times.
Both of his goals in the Premier League this term have also broken the deadlock and he offers plenty of value to continue that trend on Tuesday.
