Leicester vs Zorya Luhansk predictions and tips: Europa League preview and odds
We are backing Leicester for a welcome win on Thursday

We are backing the Foxes to bounce back with the welcome distraction of the Europa League in our Leicester vs Zorya Luhansk predictions and tips

Leicester City can use their Europa League opener against Zorya Luhansk on Thursday night to give themselves a much-needed confidence boost and end their two-game losing streak.

The Foxes were drawn in Group G alongside Zorya, Sporting Braga and AEK Athens and they will fancy their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages of the competition.

Thursday's meeting will be first between the two clubs, and the first for Leicester against a Ukrainian team in Europe.

Leicester vs Zorya Luhansk predictions

Leicester will be eager to bounce back this week after a tough run in the Premier League. Brendan Rodgers' men were beaten 3-0 by West Ham before the international break and lost to Aston Villa 1-0 on Sunday. However, we are expecting a strong Leicester line-up and a comfortable win for the Foxes is our prediction.

Foxes ready to respond on home soil

Ross Barkley's late strike was enough for Aston Villa to record a 1-0 victory at the weekend and Leicester have now lost their last three games at the King Power Stadium.

Despite their poor recent form, Zorya, who have won just one of their last seven European away games, are unlikely to pose the kind of threat the Foxes faced against West Ham and Villa.

Rodgers had to do without Wilfried Ndidi, Ricardo Pereira, Caglar Soyuncu, Daniel Amartey and Jamie Vardy on Sunday but there's every chance top-scorer Vardy will come back into the fold this week.

Tip: Leicester to win and both teams to score — Yes @ 12/5 with bet365

Zorya will carry a threat

Zorya have only failed to score on two occasions in their last 14 games, while Leicester's defensive form has been a worry of late.

The Foxes have conceded ten goals in their last four matches, and even though they showed enough quality to beat Manchester City last month, they conceded four goals without reply in home games against West Ham and Villa.

They have not kept a clean sheet at home in six matches, and even though they are expected to come through Thursday's match, Zorya can cause them problems in the final third and bag at least one goal.

Goals expected as Leicester return to Europe

Leicester looked set for a place in the Champions League this season but a dip in form towards the end of the last campaign put paid to those hopes.

Rodgers will be eager to see his side qualify for the knockout stages as soon as possible and Thursday's game represents an opportunity for Leicester to turn their season around.

A good result will give them a lift as they prepare to take on Arsenal at the weekend and over 3.5 goals can land at a big price.

Two of Leicester's last five games have featured over 3.5 goals, while the bet would have landed in three of Zorya's last five encounters.

Tip: Over 3.5 goals @ 2/1 with bet365

Leicester team news

Vardy will have a late fitness test with Kelechi Iheanacho waiting in the wings if he is unavailable. Wilfried Ndidi, Ricardo Pereira, Daniel Amartey and Caglar Soyuncu are all out injured but James Maddison should start after featuring off the bench against Aston Villa.

Leicester predicted line-up (4-1-4-1): Schmeichel; Castagne, Morgan, Evans, Justin; Mendy; Albrighton, Tielemans, Maddison, Perez; Iheanacho.

Zorya Luhansk team news

Goalkeeper Zauri Makharadze is injured so Mykyta Shevchenko will start between the sticks. Defensive midfielder Maksym Kazakov is also ruled and is likely to be replaced by Lovro Cvek. Zorya’s top-scorer this season, Vladyslav Kochergin, is expected to start in midfield with Allahyar Sayyadmanesh playing as a lone striker.

Zorya Luhansk predicted line-up (4-1-4-1): Shevchenko; Favorov, Vernydub, Abu Hanna, Leovigildo; Cvek; Kochergin, Nazaryna, Kabaev, Ciganiks; Sayyadmanesh.
