Arsenal vs West Ham tips: Premier League odds and preview
Arsenal are 17/10 to win to nil

Our three best Arsenal vs West Ham tips include a convincing win for the Gunners against a struggling Hammers side

Arsenal can continue their good form and increase West Ham’s woes as the two London clubs meet at the Emirates on Saturday night.

The Hammers manager began the season as one of the favourites to lose his job first in the Premier League sack race, and Saturday’s 2-0 defeat by Newcastle United will have done him no favours.

In contrast, Arsenal won in fine style against Fulham and they look like they could be more of a force after last season’s mediocre league campaign.

Arsenal ready to prove their worth

Even though they ended the season with the FA Cup in their hands, Arsenal will have been disappointed overall after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

The Gunners finished well adrift of the top four, and the gulf in class was apparent, even though Mikel Arteta seemed to get more out of his players after arriving mid-season from Manchester City.

The former Arsenal midfielder has been busy in the transfer market with Gabriel, Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares and Willian all joining the club.

William Saliba is also back from his loan spell at Saint-Étienne and the squad looks much more competitive in key areas. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s likely decision to stay put will also be crucial, and they looked strong and competitive during their routine win over Fulham.

While Arsenal finally look like a team who can compete, West Ham looked at sixes and sevens against the Magpies. The sale of Grady Diangana did not go down well in the dressing room, with captain Mark Noble in particular critical of the decision to allow the midfielder to depart for West Brom.

Moyes needs to sell players in order to improve his squad, and it looks like they could be in for a tough start. Arsenal won the last meeting 1-0 in March, and we feel that West Ham will struggle to score on their return to the Emirates Stadium.

Nervous Hammers to be put to the sword

Without offending Newcastle fans, they are not expected to be top-10 challengers just yet. That is not to say they cannot achieve that, but it is fair to say that Arsenal’s attack is much more potent.

Callum Wilson and Jeff Hendrick scored against the Hammers on Saturday, and the alarm bells are already sounding in east London.

The Hammers lost 5-3 in a friendly to recently relegated Bournemouth this month, and it already seems as though their squad is disjointed. They avoided relegation last season but another battle could prove a step too far.

In their last five games on the road in the top flight, they have conceded six goals while Arsenal have enjoyed themselves at home against Moyes’ men.

In the previous five meetings at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal have scored 12 goals, and we feel they will run riot while keeping a clean sheet on Saturday evening.

Lacazette the man to watch

Arsenal’s opener against Fulham was an uncharacteristically scrappy effort but they have needed to show their dogged and determined side at times, rather than trying to score the perfect goal.

Goalscorer Lacazette breathed a sigh of relief as he tries to keep his spot in the starting XI.

Even though Aubameyang is deployed on the left wing, youngster Eddie Nketiah is breathing down the Frenchman's neck.

Rumours this summer claimed Lacazette was on his way out of the club, but the striker showed he still means business and can lead the line for Arsenal.

This week we fancy him to carry on scoring the goals, and he also has a great record against the Hammers.

The former Lyon ace has four goals in three games against West Ham and he could have some fun against their fragile defence.

Tip: Alexandre Lacazette to score at any time @ 1/1 with Paddy Power

Arsenal vs West Ham odds

Arsenal are unsurprisingly 4/9 favourites for the win, West Ham are 11/2 and the draw can be backed at 19/5.

Arsenal team news

Following his man-of-the-match performance against Fulham, Gabriel will again line up in Arsenal’s back three alongside Rob Holding and Kieran Tierney. Hector Bellerin and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are expected to continue out wide. Lacazette will be joined up front by Aubameyang, fresh from signing his new contract, and Willian.

Arsenal predicted line-up (3-4-3): Leno; Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Bellerin, Elneny, Xhaka, Maitland-Niles; Willian, Aubameyang, Lacazette

West Ham team news

Josh Cullen, Robert Snodgrass, Fabian Balbuena and Arthur Masuaku were among the fringe players who featured against Charlton in midweek but David Moyes is expected to revert to a starting line-up similar to the one that lost to Newcastle last weekend. Michail Antonio will resume his role up front although Sebastian Haller’s two goals against the Addicks may yet persuade Moyes to go with a front two at The Emirates.

West Ham predicted line-up (4-5-1): Fabianski; Fredericks, Ogbonna, Diop, Cresswell; Rice, Soucek, Noble, Fornals, Bowen; Antonio
