Arsenal vs Aston Villa tips: Premier League preview and odds
We are backing Arsenal to narrowly edge Aston Villa on Sunday

We are looking at a close encounter at the Emirates on Sunday night in our three Arsenal vs Aston Villa betting tips

Arsenal will look to make it three wins on the bounce in all competitions but face an Aston Villa side who are on a four-game winning streak away from home.

The Gunners are riding high after defeating Manchester United for the first time in 13 league trips to Old Trafford, following that up with a 4-1 Europa League win over Molde.

Villa were on a four-game winning streak in the league but have been brought back down to earth with losses to Leeds and Southampton in their last two outings.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa predictions

Arsenal will be full of confidence after beating United and can make amends for their 1-0 loss to Leicester the last time they were at home by beating a shaky Villa side. The Villans have conceded six goals in their last two games and we can see the Gunners narrowly edging the contest to pick up the three points. Tight home win on the cards

Villa are the only side not to concede away from home in the Premier League so far this season, and while their away games have seen the fewest goals in the league with four, Arsenal will be confident they can break them down.

The Gunners’ last home game saw a 1-0 loss to Leicester but confidence has been restored after a convincing win against United. Despite only prevailing 1-0, Arsenal were worthy winners and could have secured a greater margin of victory.

Arsenal lacked the finishing touch at Old Trafford, but they did continue the trend of narrowly winning by one goal. Three of their four league wins have come by a one-goal margin and we are backing them to win by one again on Sunday.

Tip: Arsenal to win by one goal @ 13/5 with BoyleSports

Villa’s defence starting to crack

Aston Villa were one of the biggest surprises at the beginning of the season, the highlight of their superb start being the 7-2 defeat of reigning champions Liverpool, a result they followed up with a 1-0 win against Leicester.

Their four-game winning run was ended by a 3-0 defeat to Leeds before a 4-3 loss against Southampton, a game that saw them trailing 4-0 with less than an hour on the clock.

Villa have a kept clean sheets in their last three away matches but Arsenal have only failed to score at home in the league once in their last 13.

Arsenal will want to come out quickly and assert their dominance on the game, especially after trailing 1-0 at half time in Villa’s last visit to north London.

Four of the last six meetings between the sides have seen over 2.5 goals and we see that happening again, but we are also going for both teams to score with Villa only failing to find the net once in their last 10 in the league.

Grealish could spoil the Partey

Jack Grealish has been one of the standout players of the season so far with four goals and four assists. Only Harry Kane (14) and Heung-min Son (10) have been involved in more goals.

Another aspect of Grealish’s game is his ability to draw fouls from the opposition, winning plenty of free-kicks that sometimes result in yellow cards for his rivals.

Thomas Partey put in an excellent performance against Manchester United, but is no stranger to picking up a caution, having racked up 16 yellow cards for Atletico Madrid last season.

The Ghana international has already got two in four appearances for Arsenal, and we are backing Partey to be booked on Saturday.

Tip: Thomas Partey to be booked @ 7/4 with BoyleSports
