Saturday night sees a throwback to the glory days of boxing, with two unbeaten British heavyweights throwing career caution to the wind in a clash before the BT Sport cameras in Westminster.

There is a potential world title shot at stake, with Daniel Dubois the WBO’s No 2-ranked challenger behind Oleksandr Usyk. If Anthony Joshua vacates the WBO strap to help secure a mega-money clash with Tyson Fury, Usyk would face “DDD” for the title – unless Joyce can win and take his shot at glory.

Daniel Dubois is unbeaten in 15 fights, with 14 of those victories coming by way of knockout. Joe Joyce brings a perfect 11-bout record (10 by KO) to the Church House in Westminster.

DDD, Daniel ‘Dynamite’ Dubois, is 23 and is one of the leading prospects in British boxing, while 35-year-old Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallist Joyce is looking to land a blow in the heavyweight division before it's too late

In the Dubois vs Joyce “to win the fight” betting, Joyce has shortened from 10/3 to 11/4, but Dubois remains a strong favourite despite his odds drifting slightly from 1/4 to 1/5.

Dubois has won 10 of his 15 professional fights in the first two rounds, with four of his victories coming in the opener and six in the second. It's 14/1 with bet365 that Dubois gets Joyce out in the first three minutes and 11/1 that he stops him in the second.

Of course, those early stoppages have come against opponents operating at a lower level than Joyce but DDD has the explosive one-punch power to give any fighter an early night.

Bet365 makes a win in round four or five the most likely for a Dubois stoppage, with both of those available at 9/1, and a victory for him in the 11th or 12th rounds is priced up at 33/1 and 50/1 respectively.

There are some huge prices for an early Joyce stoppage with the Putney puncher 80/1 to win in round one and the same price for a second-round victory.

Joyce doesn’t look to have the power to dispatch a fighter of DDD’s class with one punch, so perhaps a late overwhelming of the Greenwich man is the most likely way that ‘the Juggernaut’ could record a stoppage win.

He is 100/1 to win in round 11 and the same price to win in the final round with bet365. It’s difficult to see Joyce stopping Dubois, which is 6/1 with bet365, not least because he doesn’t have huge power, despite the 10 knockout wins on his record.

He is also in with a fighter who has already proved himself at British and Commonwealth level and has the makings of a world-level contender in the not-too-distant future.

Perhaps Joyce will look to use his feet and athleticism to keep Dubois at bay and that would steer you away from supporting the 23-year-old in the round betting markets.

Joyce is a capable operator but he could be facing a future heavyweight world champion and is easy to tag, often moving forward in straight lines. He could be target practice for the big-hitting Dubois.

DDD is just 8/15 to win inside the distance but the question is what round represents the best value. It seems that if Joyce is able to cope with the Greenwich man’s punch power in the first few rounds, he’ll probably be able to deal with him as the fight moves into the latter stages.

However, that’s a big if and the 11/1 with bet365 for a victory in round two for Dubois looks the best way to play it. There could also be a bit of value in taking the 15/4 with bet365 for Dubois to end the fight in any of rounds 1-3. That’s a bet offered in the round group-betting market.
