Chanel has released backstage pictures of its Ready To Wear autumn/winter 2016/2017 show, at which Tom Pecheux created the already infamous quilted eye.
The official hashtag for the show was #FRONTROWONLY, with Karl Lagerfeld insisting all guests would have the ultimate view of the clothing. "People complain that they can't see the clothes because they are too far away; this season everybody is front row," he said.
Which is all very well, except that even frowers will have struggled to see the intricacy of the make-up at seated-level, given the average height of a fashion week model can induce neck ache at the best of times.
Thankfully the pictures released, taken by photographer Benoît Peverelli give us the close-up. (Though Pecheux and his backstage doll Pascal had already done the honours in that regard on Instagram.)
