The beauty world isn't short of gift ideas that make for the perfect Christmas present. Whether you opt for fool-proof classics or take a shot at some of the exciting newness coming from the industry's most-celebrated brands, beauty buys are a fail-safe way of spreading some much-needed love over the festive period.

If you're in need of some inspiration, look no further. Below, the Telegraph's beauty experts share the must-have products that are really on their wish lists this Christmas...

Sonia's wishing for

Beautifect Box, £279

For the beauty lover who has everything, how about this incredible dressing table in a box? It's a vanity case to house all your favourite beauty products, but its game-changing lighting is what I'm really impressed by. It cleverly imitates natural daylight, as well as evening light, which makes it so easy to apply your make-up properly. A worthwhile investment.

Azurina Candles, £25

I’ve long been a fan of Azurina’s chic, monogrammed leather - their totes are so simple and effortlessly chic. They’ve just started producing candles; delicious blends housed in sweet pink and white packaging with an affordable price tag. The spicy Noel Noel is my favourite, as well as the heady notes in Maroc.

Vieve The Essential Eye Palette, £43

Oof, this is a very good eyeshadow palette. It contains the perfect blend of pale base eyeshadow shades as well as deeper tones for an easy-peasy smokey eye. For sparkly eyes lovers, there’s even a couple of subtle shimmer shades. It’s such a versatile palette with absolutely no dud colour (that never happens). I’ll be using this for months to come.

Annabel's wishing for

Aesop Reverence Aromatique Hand Wash, £27

I put this on my wish list every year because it’s that amazing. An aromatic blend of uplifting botanical extracts and finely milled Pumice, it exfoliates and cleanses hands in one. I never get bored of it.

Fenty Beauty Glow Trio Face, Lip & Body Set, £35

My daughter and I can share this make-up set which goes to show how ageless it really is. The nude Lip Luminizer has become my ultimate go-to lip shade for day and it doesn’t last long!

Prada Amber Eau de Parfum, £44.80 30ml

I recently smelt this fragrance on a friend and immediately fell in love. It’s not often that I depart from my signature Chanel No.19 but this warm, sensual spritz has seduced me.

Sameeha's wishing for

Tom Ford Bitten Peach, £228 for 50ml

Love at first sniff is a rare chance for me, but just a small whiff of this on a colleague began the start of my latest obsession. Tom Ford's new offering delivers a delicious fruit-floral hit of pêche de vigne and sicilian blood orange oil, which is perfectly balanced with deep, warm notes of patchouli, sandalwood and creamy cashmeran and vanilla. It's utterly addictive and without a doubt my favourite scent of the year.

Huda Beauty Naughty Nude Eyeshadow Palette, £46

With the plethora of palettes available these days, few really manage to stand out from the crowd. Huda's latest large pan launch however does just that. Featuring 18 exciting warm shadows, the palette includes an array of textures from velvet-mattes to high-shine metallics, marble creams and an innovative pearly gloss finish, perfect for the wet look we all wish we could pull off.

Nars Soft Matte Foundation, £28

While Nars foundations rarely disappoint, the newest addition to the brand's base range is quite possibly their best yet. Its buildable, medium to full coverage offers a lightweight, skin-like, velvety veil and the formula helps to balance excess oil while keeping skin hydrated thanks to a Hydramatte Balancing Complex and a combination of micro-algae and Bio Hyaluronic Acid. Put plainly, if I can go through the day without so much as thinking twice about the foundation sitting on my skin or touching it up, I know it's the real deal.
