To cater to the huge increase in demand for CBD-based products, a premium line of CBD drinks and oils will be available to order on Deliveroo from today. Its products can be at your door in under 30 minutes, should you live in London, Manchester or Leeds where the new service will be available.
In the UK, lockdown (which saw all but essential stores close to stop the spread of Covid-19 back on March 23) was slightly relaxed last week, followed the government’s guidelines on our roadmap back to normality. During the lockdown, the CBD brand Trip found that 49 per cent more millennials have been buying CBD products to cope with the stress and uncertainty of the current situation.
"Since the lockdown, we’ve seen the demand for Trip skyrocket," says founder Olivia Ferdi. "When people are anxious or stressed, there’s a huge desire for immediate relief."
Trip’s sales have increased 420 per cent month-on-month - and have now collaborated with food delivery service Deliveroo to make its products as easily accessible as your Thai takeaway.
The popular ingredient CBD aims to regulate our body's ECS (or endocannabinoid system) which is 'a network of tiny receptors found throughout the body that play a crucial role in regulating the body's optimal balance, including our sleep, stress, anxiety, immune system,' the brand's website states. Trip's lockdown research showed that 39 per cent of people plan to use more CBD to cope in the current climate, rising to 49 per cent among millennials and under 25s.
Alongside the rise in all things wellness, CBD products have proven popular in recent years: brands such as Cubid CBD have thrived off of the spotlight the ingredient has had, and earlier this month, online beauty haven Cult Beauty noted that 'anything with the ingredient CBD in it is a huge hit with customers at the moment.' Still, such an on-demand service is a first for a CBD brand.
Alongside its drinks offering which includes its CBD-infused cold brew coffee, and popular botanical soft drinks like elderflower and mint, Trip's line of CBD oils will be available to order, too.
The family-run label crafts its CBD in the UK, and is third-party tested to ensure it doesn't contain THC (tetrahydrocannabinol, which is known to give a high) and is gluten-free, palm oil-free and vegan.
