After a tough year, it’s time for some bathtime pampering

Here’s a bizarre sentence I couldn’t have imagined writing a year ago: tomorrow marks the end of the five-day break from the tier system, and a week where we retreat back into the cosiness of home life. Can you imagine reading this at the start of 2020? It makes me shudder.

So let’s settle ourselves with some wholesome beauty goodness, of which there is an abundance at this time of year.  I think that for a product to be luxurious, it shouldn’t be too overpowering or heavily scented. It should settle into the skin unassumingly, rather than providing an all-out attack on the senses.

If you’re a fan of a long soak in the bathtub, pour in a generous glug of Almond Milky Bath by L’Occitane, which fits the bill entirely. It smells clean and comforting at the same time, and it leaves your skin perfectly soft.

Hygge-lovers should also stock up on Calm Luxurious Shower Foam by The White Company. The mousse formula is a treat to use, and subtle notes of juniper berry and clary sage are earthy and grounding.

A mainstay in my shower for the past couple of months has been the new Rose Pink Clay Mask by Aromatherapy Associates. It’s a lovely creamy formula, delicately spiked with rose, and you can slather it on to your hair or use it on your face and body. I’ve had the same pot for a while now, so a little really does go a long way.

Another great multitasker is Rose Hair & Body Oil by Ouai – all the products in this range are effective, lovely to use and look so smart on the bathroom shelf.

Finally, to one of my favourite finds of this year: the 100% Squalane Oil by Biossance. This natural form of the ultra-hydrating oil is far superior to any other version I’ve used. It’s perfect for sensitive skin and sinks in quickly without any greasiness. Below are some of my other favourite treats.
